Our Dance Holiday in Cairo February 2008

In early February 2008 nine of us with accompanying family went to discover the sights sounds and smells of Cairo. Three of us had been to Egypt before, but only one of us had ever been to Cairo before so we did not quite know what to expect.

 We all had a wonderful holiday and where left with some wonderful impressions after the itinery below.

 

Day 1

Cairo Museum

Shopping in Khan-al-Khalili Market.

Egypt wins the African Cup

 Day 2

Dancing lesson with Lubna Emam

Meal out on the Nile Pharon to watch Belly dancer Dunia from Finland. Folk dancers and Tannora dancer.

 Day 3

The Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza

Camel rides in the desert.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tea at Yasmina's

Perfumery visit.

Marriott Hotel for a meal and to see belly dancer Nancy from Cairo.

 Day 4

Cairo Museum to see the Mummies

Costume shopping in Khan-al-Khalili Market.

Meal in Hotel, evening bar.

 

 

 Day 5

Dancing lesson with Yasmina

Boat trip down the Nile with a stop at  shore side farmers.

Then sailed to riverside restaurant for a meal on the boat.

 Day 6

The Citadel of Saladin

including the famous Mohammed Ali Mosque.

Jewellery shopping.

Late night flight home.
